Background: Effective early intervention of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the key for preventing dementia. However, there is currently no drug for MCI. As a multi-targeted neuroprotective agent, butylphthalide has been demonstrated to repair cognition in patients with vascular cognitive impairment, and has the potential to treat MCI due to Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Reductive amination is one of the most synthetically direct routes to access chiral amines. Several Imine Reductases (IREDs) have been discovered to catalyze reductive amination (Reductive Aminases or RedAms), yet they are dependent on the expensive phosphorylated nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide cofactor NADPH and usually more active at basic pH. Here, we describe the discovery and synthetic potential of an IRED from (RedAm) that catalyzes reductive amination between a series of medium to large carbonyl and amine compounds with conversions of up to >99% and 99% enantiomeric excess at neutral pH.

Results showed that had the longest mitochondrial length and the most pronounced codon preference to be UUA, followed by CCU. Codon usage frequencies were similar between families and codon usage in the mitogenome of spiders was mainly influenced by natural selection pressures rather than G/C mutation bias.

The distinction between classification and clustering is often based on a priori knowledge of classification labels. However, in the purely theoretical situation where a data-generating model is known, the optimal solutions for clustering do not necessarily correspond to optimal solutions for classification. Exploring this divergence leads us to conclude that no standard measures of either internal or external validation can guarantee a correspondence with optimal clustering performance.

Millerettidae are a group of superficially lizard-like Permian stem reptiles originally hypothesized as relevant to the ancestry of the reptile crown group, and particularly to lepidosaurs and archosaurs. Since the advent of cladistics, millerettids have typically been considered to be more distant relatives of crown reptiles as the earliest-diverging parareptiles and therefore outside of 'Eureptilia'. Despite this cladistic consensus, some conspicuous features of millerettid anatomy invite reconsideration of their relationships.
