Silicone-based breast implants are commonly used, but there are concerns about their long-term safety. While implantation results in the formation of a periprosthetic tissue that isolates the implant from the rest of the host body, silicone can leak and reach surrounding tissues. We combined histological analysis and gene expression profiling (RNA sequencing) of samples from human patients with silicone breast implants with different fillers (silicone or serum), surface topographies and/or shell rupture, and performed systematic cross-comparisons.

Purpose: To introduce a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sign, termed the Cobra sign, and identify its diagnostic metrics. The secondary aim was to demonstrate that this sign can be a source of false evaluation of tendon retraction in patients with proximal hamstring avulsion injury.
Method: This retrospective cohort study targeted patients surgically treated for proximal hamstring avulsion injury from January 2019 to June 2023.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the cytotoxicity of novel polymerization co-initiators and their effect on cytokine release from human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs), comparing them with commonly used co-initiators.
Methods: Cells were isolated from the dental pulp of healthy human third molars. The new co-initiators, namely HDa1, HD4, HD1, and MHPTm, were evaluated and compared with the compounds dimethylaminoethyl amine benzoate (EDAB) and 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA).

Objectives: Hydroperoxides are key constituents of two-component dental materials. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the hydroperoxide structure on the reactivity and on the mechanical properties of self-cure composites.
Methods: Hydroperoxides HP1-3 were synthesized by selective catalytic oxidation of the corresponding para-substituted cumene precursors and isolated in high purity.

Background: Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a severe human neuroinfection caused by TBE virus (TBEV). TBEV is transmitted by tick bites and by the consumption of unpasteurized dairy products from infected asymptomatic ruminants. In France, several food-borne transmission events have been reported since 2020, raising the question of the level of exposure of domestic ungulates to TBEV.
