Introduction: Africa is the least motorized populated continent, yet it experiences the highest traffic fatality rate. Despite laws mandating helmet and seatbelt use, data on protective gear use among Cameroonian road traffic injury (RTI) patients remains sparse.
Methods: We extracted Cameroon Trauma Registry data prospectively collected from 10 hospitals during July 2022 to December 2023.

Background: Snakebite envenomation is a global public health concern, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. We describe the demography, presentations, treatments and outcomes of snakebites from a community snakebite treatment centre in Nepal.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of snakebite cases from 2008 to 2021 presenting in a community-based treatment centre in eastern Nepal.

Using the methodology developed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for motorcyclists, this paper estimates bicycle helmet effectiveness factors (HEFs), defined as the percentage greater chance that a helmeted bicyclist will avoid a fatality or serious injury relative to a non-wearer. We analyse reported motor vehicle-bicycle collisions in Colorado between 2006 and 2014. We conclude that NHTSA's motorcycle HEF methodology did not provide reasonable results given underreporting of low-severity collisions of helmeted bicyclists.

Motorcycle food delivery riders (MFDRs) are at a higher risk of traffic accidents compared to regular motorcyclists. Their safety is a significant issue in many developing countries, particularly in Thailand, which has the highest rate of motorcyclist fatalities globally. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of traffic accidents and explore the association between risky riding behaviors, concerns for working conditions, and accidents among MFDRs.

Motorcycles are a prevalent mode of transportation in countries like Cambodia that experience distinct rainy and dry seasons. However, the safety concerns associated with motorcycling in this region have not been thoroughly investigated. This study addresses this research gap by examining the severity of motorcyclist injuries in Cambodia, considering the potential variations across seasons and the fluctuations in contributing factors over time.
