Leukocidins of (.) are bicomponent toxins that form polymeric pores in host leukocyte membranes, leading to cell death and/or triggering apoptosis. Some of these toxin genes are located on prophages and are associated with specific hosts.

Metastatic cancer cells undergo metabolic reprogramming, which involves changes in the metabolic fluxes, including endocytosis, nucleocytoplasmic transport, and mitochondrial metabolism, to satisfy their massive demands for energy, cell division, and proliferation compared to normal cells. We have previously demonstrated the ability of two different types of compounds to interfere with linchpins of metabolic reprogramming, Pitstop-2 and 1,6-hexanediol (1,6-HD). 1,6-HD disrupts glycolysis enzymes and mitochondrial function, enhancing reactive oxygen species production and reducing cellular ATP levels, while Pitstop-2 impedes clathrin-mediated endocytosis and small GTPases activity.

For over a century, we have appreciated that the biochemical processes through which micro- and macronutrients are anabolized and catabolized-collectively referred to as "cellular metabolism"-are reprogrammed in malignancies. Cancer cells in lung tumors rewire pathways of nutrient acquisition and metabolism to meet the bioenergetic demands for unchecked proliferation. Advances in precision medicine have ushered in routine genotyping of patient lung tumors, enabling a deeper understanding of the contribution of altered metabolism to tumor biology and patient outcomes.

Tuberculosis (TB), white plague, many other definitions is an ancient deadly infection that humans dealt with after creation. The first hypothesis refers to 150 million years ago about the appearance of TB in the Jurassic era before human creation, but documents show 9000 years ago for first appearance in human society. In 1882, Robert Koch was able to identify and describe the best possible agent of TB.

The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae), is a major pest of various plants with a worldwide distribution. Extensive use of chemical pesticides has led to the development of resistance in this pest, making biological control agents a viable alternative for its management. The predatory mites, Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor) and Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot (Acari: Phytoseiidae) are the most important predators of the two-spotted spider mites.
