We report the case of a 25-year-old woman presenting with left hip pain. A lesion was found in the proximal femoral metaphysis. Benign bone tumor, such as intraosseous lipoma or liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor, was suspected based on simple radiographs and magnetic resonance images.

In this study immunoelectrophoretic and double immunodiffusion analyses were used to investigate the antigenic character of zinc-binding proteins (ZnBPs), whereas the indirect immunofluorescence technique was used to identify their origin in boar reproductive tract. The mmunoelectrophoretic analysis of ZnBPs of the seminal plasma resulted in the appearance of three antigenic protein complexes, while specific immunoreactivity patterns of the anti-ZnBP serum were detected by double immunodiffusion analysis. Indirect immunofluorescence technique confirmed that ZnBPs were secreted by different reproductive tract tissues, suggesting their contributions to the seminal plasma.

A small animal model of localised candidiasis is needed for the evaluation of new antifungal compounds. Mammary glands of immunocompetent (BALB/cJ) and immunodeficient (SCID and athymic nude) mice were infected with a wild-type of Candida albicans. Some of the animals were treated with amphotericin B (AmB) while others were treated with saline and acted as controls.

Dracunculus medinensis recovered from infected humans were examined for the occurrence and localization of human serum albumin and immunoglobulins. Immunoelectrophoretic examination of homogenates prepared from adult female worms (ADGW) and first stage larvae (LVGW) showed that anti-human albumin antibodies reacted to both stages of the parasite. By direct fluorescence antibody technique, antigens resembling human albumin and human immunoglobulins (isotype IgG) were identified on the surface of adult female worms.
