Lymphocyte-rich fractions were separated from rat bone marrow by means of a glass wool column. The large marrow cells were removed by a filter effect and the mature granulocytes by their adhesion to the glass wool surface. The majority of erythrocytes and their precursors were not removed. The technique is very simple and quick, requires no special equipment and yields viable lymphoid cells selectively concentrated to form in the fraction more than 50 per cent of nucleated bone marrow cells and virtually free from granulocytes and their precursors.
