Objective: The integrity of the plantar flap is important for transmetatarsal amputation (TMA) classic closure. However, in ischemic wounds, the plantar flap can be compromised, making the TMA coverage difficult. The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of rotational vs long plantar flaps for transmetatarsal amputation closure in patients with dysvascular partial foot amputations.

Penile amputation following circumcision is a rare but serious complication. Reconstructing the glans poses a complex surgical challenge, and several techniques have been proposed to address this issue. We present the case of a 10-year-old boy who experienced complete glans amputation 14 hours after circumcision.

A 33-year-old male patient developed distal femur chronic osteomyelitis with massive bone loss after an open grade-3b fracture. Following several failed treatments to eradicate infection, a tibial turn-up procedure was performed to provide a stable and functional stump. To avoid neurovascular problems, the popliteal vessels and sciatic nerve were moved medially, and the flap was rotated externally to decrease the collapse.

In recent years, reports of infections in humans have increased. Similarly to most known Enterococci, has been identified mostly in bacteremia, urinary tract infections, infective endocarditis, and biliary tract infections. We present a case of bacteriemia associated with traumatic soft tissue infection in a 77-year-old male patient, a polytrauma victim with a tibia-fibula open fracture after a forklift accident.
