Objective: To highlight the importance of early recognition of hypopigmented mycosis fungoides (HMF) in cases of cutaneous hypochromia in children, with a view to an effective diagnostic and therapeutic approach.

Case Description: Two cases of HMF in children are reported. The first case involves an eight-year-old boy with hypochromic macules on the trunk and root of the upper and lower limbs, while the second case is a six-year-old boy with widespread hypochromic patches.

Aims: T1 mapping on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is useful for diagnosis and prognostication in patients with light-chain cardiac amyloidosis (AL-CA). We conducted this study to evaluate the performance of T1 mapping parameters, derived from artificial intelligence (AI)-automated segmentation, for detection of cardiac amyloidosis (CA) in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and their prognostic values in patients with AL-CA.

Methods And Results: A total of 300 consecutive patients who underwent CMR for differential diagnosis of LVH were analyzed.

Importance: Cutaneous pyogenic granulomas (PGs) are commonly encountered, benign, vascular tumors, in which epidemiologic factors have been variably reported, in part, due to sample size limitations and a focus on either adult or pediatric patients.

Objective: To assemble a large dataset of pathologically diagnosed PGs across the continuum of age and investigate patterns of PGs by demographic factors, including age, sex, and anatomical location.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective case series included case reports of patients with pathologically confirmed PGs of cutaneous origin reported between April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2020.

Point of Care (POC) diagnosis provides an effective approach for controlling and managing Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Electrochemical biosensors are well-suited for molecular diagnostics due to their high sensitivity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of integration into POC devices. Schistosomiasis is a prominent NTD highly prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with significant socioeconomic implications such as discrimination, reduced work capacity, or mortality, perpetuating the cycle of poverty in affected regions worldwide.

Identification of pain-related long non-coding RNAs for pulpitis prediction.

Clin Oral Investig

January 2025

Department of Endodontics, Guangdong Engineering Research Center of Oral Restoration and Reconstruction, Guangzhou Key Laboratory of Basic and Applied Research of Oral Regenerative Medicine, Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Guangzhou, China.

Objectives: We investigated the recently generated RNA-sequencing dataset of pulpitis to identify the potential pain-related lncRNAs for pulpitis prediction.

Materials And Methods: Differential analysis was performed on the gene expression profile between normal and pulpitis samples to obtain pulpitis-related genes. The co-expressed gene modules were identified by weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA).
