Purpose: To evaluate the clinical outcome of laser-assisted surgical correction of high hyperopic or mixed astigmatism using small incision intrastromal lenticule rotation (SMILERO) alone or combined with photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).

Methods: This retrospective case series enrolled 25 eyes with high astigmatism that underwent SMILERO surgery. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA), manifest refraction, central corneal thickness, and corneal higher order aberrations were analyzed before surgery and after 3, 6, and 12 months of follow-up.

Purpose: To evaluate the 12-month rotational stability and outcomes of V4c toric Implantable Collamer Lenses (TICLs) (STAAR Surgical) located at two different lens orientations (horizontal or oblique).

Methods: This retrospective study included a total of 403 eyes with TICL implantation, enrolled between January 2021 and December 2022, that were divided into two groups based on the minimum intended angle off the horizontal axis: horizontal with 263 eyes at an angle ±22.5 degrees or less and oblique with 140 eyes at a minimum intended angle of greater than ±22.

Purpose: Our study presents a virtual reality-based tangent screen test (VTS) to measure subjective ocular deviations including torsion in nine directions of gaze. The test was compared to the analogous Harms tangent screen test (HTS).

Methods: We used an Oculus Go controller and head-mounted-display with rotation sensors to measure patient's head orientation for the VTS.

Purpose: To assess the effects of modifying head position and of static ocular counter-rolling (OCR) on abduction and adduction in saccadic eye movements using a head-mounted video-oculographic device.

Study Design: A clinical observational study.

Methods: The peak velocities and amplitude gains of visually guided 12° saccades were binocularly measured in 21 healthy volunteers with their heads in the upright vertical (0°) and horizontal (± 90°, bilateral side-lying) postures, and in 6 participants with their head positions bilaterally tilted by 30°.

To explore the efficacy of the modified lateral rectus muscle splitting and nasal transposition surgery in treating large-angle exotropia caused by oculomotor nerve palsy and its impact on ocular motility. Retrospective case series study. Data was collected from patients diagnosed with large-angle exotropia due to oculomotor nerve palsy and treated by modified lateral rectus muscle splitting and nasal transposition surgery at the Tianjin Eye Hospital from January 2020 to October 2023.
