Diabetic gastroparesis (DGP), a prevalent complication of diabetes, is characterized by delayed gastric emptying and inflammation. The dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV) plays a crucial role in modulating gastric function via the vagus nerve. Neuregulin 1 (NRG1), which is present in the DMV and influences the autonomic nervous system, has an unclear role in DGP.

Recent studies have identified a connection between the gut microbiota and METH-induced neurotoxicity and behavioral disorders. Gut-specific integrins, on the other hand, help to keep immune cells in the intestines. Methods: This study conducted a systematic review (SR) employing a search strategy and strict inclusion criteria. It was conducted by searching for studies published between 2017 and 2024 in the following databases: PUBMED, PUBMED PMC, BVS-BIREME, SCOPUS, WEB OF SCIENCE, EMBASE, and COCHRANE.
