Article Synopsis
  • - Four patients aged 33 to 68 presented with periapical lesions requiring periodontal surgery prior to getting prosthetics, each displaying different dental issues such as retained intraradicular devices and fistulas.
  • - Treatment involved coronal lengthening and apical surgery for the first three patients, while the fourth patient underwent apical surgery and implant placement with successful results, indicated by bone filling of the lesions in follow-up checks.
  • - The study suggests that combining periodontal and endodontic surgeries into one procedure is beneficial as it can lower costs, minimize appointments, reduce medication, and decrease post-surgical complications.

The aim of this randomized clinical study was to assess the comparative efficacy of flurbiprofen in tablet and spray formulations for postoperative pain management in oral soft tissue wounds undergoing primary closure while investigating the feasibility of achieving optimal analgesia with reduced dosage and risk. Forty patients who underwent epulis fissuratum and frenulum excision for pre-prosthetic surgery were randomly assigned to receive either tablet or spray forms of flurbiprofen. The lesion dimensions were measured preoperatively, followed by excision and primary closure.

Objective And Aim: Challenging defect configurations and dimensions arise from severe, localized vertical alveolar ridge defects caused by trauma or prior surgery. This study aims to analyze three-dimensional bone gain, assess marginal bone stability in such defect configurations, and evaluate the impact of grafting outside the bone contour on the overall outcome, with a focus on iliac crest block grafts as a valid treatment option.

Materials And Methods: The prospective cohort study evaluated patients who required vertical block grafting due to localized bone defects in the maxilla or mandible and who had received iliac grafts.

Advanced and uneven residual ridge resorption in mandibular edentulous arches leads to non-retentive and unstable dentures. The hardness of traditional heat-cured acrylic resin makes extending the denture base into bilateral lingual undercuts challenging. This can cause supporting tissue damage, pain, and ulcerations during denture insertion and removal.
