Assessing Relationship Between Goat and Sheep Farmers' Stress and Their Demographics: A Pilot Study.

BackgroundLower extremity peripheral arterial disease (LEAD) is characterized by the narrowing and occlusion of arteries in the lower extremities. The most severe form of LEAD is chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI), which carries a poorer prognosis for major amputation. The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is an index developed to simultaneously reflect the inflammatory and immunothrombosis status of patients, based on platelet counts and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is known to reduce glomerular filtration rate (GFR), while chronic kidney disease (CKD) significantly increases the risk of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and HF. Although these connections have been explored in separate studies, comprehensive research examining the mutual links between CKD and LVH progression is lacking.

Methods: Our study investigates the longitudinal relationship between estimated GFR (eGFR) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) in a cohort of 106 CKD patients across stages G1-5.

Social antecedents of children's mindsets, motivation and achievement in math: Investigating parental beliefs and perceived teacher beliefs.

Br J Educ Psychol

March 2025

Department of Education and the Brain and Motivation Research Institute (bMRI), Korea University, Seoul, South Korea.

Background: As children mature, they tend to develop a fixed mindset in math, which has been identified as a contributor to declining confidence and widespread anxiety in math. Both parents and teachers can function as critical socializers in shaping children's fixed mindsets.

Aims: Given that children's beliefs are formed through interactions with socializers, we tested our hypothesis that the mindsets and expectations of parents and those of teachers perceived by students would predict the children's mindsets, motivation and achievement in math.

Objective: Mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein (MLKL) is a key component of necroptosis. Here, serum MLKL levels were measured with the intent to assess its prognostic significance in acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

Methods: A collective of 161 patients with acute primary supratentorial ICH and 73 controls were enlisted in this multicenter prospective cohort study.
