Thymus, spleen, lymph node and peripheral blood lymphocytes taken from mice treated with anti-lymphocyte globulin (ALG) showed a greatly diminished response to PHA . Recovery of circulating lymphocyte levels preceded recovery of responsiveness to PHA. The latter could be prevented by reinjection of ALG or by thymectomy. Grafts were rejected within a period equal to the normal rejection time after PHA responsiveness had recovered to a value of approximately 20 per cent of the normal. Thus the effect of ALG on thymus dependent lymphocytes in mice can be monitored by assessing the PHA sensitivity of peripheral white blood cells.

Cardiac arrest (CA) is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. Considerable advances in resuscitation have led to an increasing number of patients who survive the initial arrest event. However, among this growing patient population, morbidity and mortality rates remain strikingly high.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have revolutionized cancer therapy, but many patients fail to respond or develop resistance, often due to reduced T cell activity. Costimulation via 4-1BB has emerged as a promising approach to enhance the effector function of antigen-primed T cells. Bispecific T cell-engaging (TCE) antibodies are an effective way to provide tumor-specific T cell receptor-mediated signaling to tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes.

Immune evasion strategies of Brucella, the etiologic agent of brucellosis, a global zoonosis, remain partially understood. The omentum, a tertiary lymphoid organ part of visceral adipose tissue, has never been explored as a Brucella reservoir. We report that B.

Septic arthritis (SA) caused by Staphylococcus aureus is a severe inflammatory joint disease, characterized by synovitis accompanied with cartilage destruction and bone erosion. The available antibiotic treatment alone is insufficient to resolve the inflammation that leads to high rates of morbidity and mortality. Among the CD4 T helper lymphocytes, the Th17 and Tregs are key regulators of immune homeostasis.

Objective: Multi-organ failure frequently complicates sepsis, with lungs being the primary target. T helper (Th) cell activation and phenotypic imbalance among them contribute significantly to sepsis-associated lung injury. Additionally, the complement system could regulate the polarized phenotype of T lymphocytes.
