Identifying the parameters of a solar photovoltaic (PV) model optimally, is necessary for simulation, performance assessment, and design verification. However, precise PV cell modelling is critical for design due to many critical factors, such as inherent nonlinearity, existing complexity, and a wide range of model parameters. Although different researchers have recently proposed several effective techniques for solar PV system parameter identification, it is still an interesting challenge for researchers to enhance the accuracy of the PV system modelling.

The ubiquitous distribution of microplastics (MPs) in aquatic environments is linked to their transport in rivers and streams. However, the specific mechanism of bedload microplastic (MP) transport, notably their stochastic behaviors, remains an underexplored area. To investigate this, particle tracking velocimetry was employed to examine the continuous near-bed movements of four types of MPs under nine setups with different experimental conditions in a laboratory flume, with an emphasis on their streamwise transport.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe present both experimental and simulation results for a fully etched, C-band GC fabricated in an 800 nm silicon nitride platform that significantly reduces backreflections. They are minimized by truncating the initial grates, which deflect reflected light at an oblique angle and excite higher-order modes in the tapered waveguide that is filtered out. Insertion losses resulting from this modification of the grating coupler are mitigated by an adaptive redesign of the grates that corrects incurred errors in the generated phase front.

However, it is susceptible to fluctuations in the received optical power (ROP) due to atmospheric turbulence and pointing errors, resulting in the inevitable free-space optical communication transmission performance degradation. In this work, we experimentally verified the turbulence resistance of the cylindrical vector beam (CVB) over a 3 km long free-space field trial link.

The phase-delay error of the circuit system is the primary source of the output error observed in the hemispherical resonator gyroscope (HRG). Additionally, the temperature-dependent nature of the phase-delay error results in a deterioration of the initial calibration parameters, which, in turn, significantly impairs the performance of the gyroscope in its intended application. This paper proposes a self-calibration method to effectively suppress the impact of phase-delay error on the application performance of gyroscopes.
