Purpose: To describe the patient characteristics and clinical course of severe intraocular inflammation (IOI) following intravitreal injection (IVT) of faricimab.
Design: Retrospective case series.
Methods: Case series at a single French academic center (Dijon University Hospital) where 263 patients were treated with faricimab IVT between January 9, 2024 and May 7, 2024.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by persistent activation of immune cells and overproduction of autoantibodies. The accumulation of senescent T and B cells has been observed in SLE and other immune-mediated diseases. However, the exact mechanistic pathways contributing to this process in SLE remain incompletely understood.

Objectives: Telomere shortening is a well-established marker of biological aging. Whether telomere erosion coincides with age-related increases in antinuclear antibody (ANA) seropositivity remains unknown. Our study aimed to determine the association between ANA seropositivity and shortened telomeres among 1999-2002 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) subjects.

Antinuclear antibodies (ANA), a marker of self-reactivity to DNA and other nuclear antigens, are present in several autoimmune diseases and have been observed in healthy persons in the absence of autoimmune disease. ANA prevalence is higher in women and older adults, but the health implications of ANA in middle- to older-aged adults are unknown. Immune system differences by sex may further result in sex-specific susceptibility to morbidity.
