: The bite of the Loxosceles spider is a public health problem around the world, mainly in Latin America. The viscerocutaneous presentation is related to the inoculation of toxins (phospholipase-D) that generates a systemic inflammatory reaction with a subsequent increase in cytokines and chemokines. Hemoadsorption is proposed as a therapy that allows for the removal of the toxin and modulation of the inflammatory response in this disease.

Glucocorticoids (GCs) are routinely used to treat hematological malignancies; however, long-term treatment with GCs can lead to atrophic and metabolic adverse effects. Selective glucocorticoid receptor agonists (SEGRAs) with reduced side effects may act as a superior alternative to GCs. More than 30 SEGRAs have been described so far, yet none of them reached clinical trials for anti-cancer treatment.

Background: The use of a fluid co-load has been shown to enhance hemodynamic stability and diminish the occurrence of hypotension after spinal anesthesia when paired with prophylactic norepinephrine. This research aimed to identify the effective dosages (ED and ED) of prophylactic norepinephrine boluses, in conjunction with a crystalloid co-load, for the prevention of hypotension after spinal anesthesia in cesarean delivery patients.
Methods: Patients were administered crystalloid co-loads at a dosage of 10 mL/kg, in addition to preventive norepinephrine dosages direct following spinal anesthesia administration.

Background: Aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency is a rare life-threatening inborn error of neurotransmitter biosynthesis. It is characterized by deficient biosynthesis of neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin, leading to catecholamines deficiency and sympathetic deprivation, while the parasympathetic system remains functional. Since 2012, gene therapy has led to clinical improvements in symptoms and motor function with a severe phenotype.
