Background: Few studies have explored the link between nutritional status and prognosis in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), and existing findings are controversial. Thus, this study aimed to explore the effects of pre-treatment nutrition-related indicators on the prognosis of patients with newly diagnosed EOC.

Methods: In this ambispective cohort study, 1,020 patients with EOC diagnosed by pathology examination were enrolled and followed-up until December 31, 2023.

Purpose: In this study, we aimed to assess the occurrence of hidden blood loss (HBL) and its associated risk factors in patients with lumbar degenerative diseases who underwent percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (Endo-TLIF).

Methods: Sex, age, height, weight, body mass index, and medical history including hypertension, diabetes, and osteoporosis were recorded. The duration of symptoms, preoperative lumbar subcutaneous fat tissue thickness (measured using midsagittal T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging), lumbar disc degeneration grade, and other basic patient information were also documented.

Objective: Our aim is to review the safety and efficacy of hydroxyurea (HU) on -thalassemia patients.

Methods: Studies that evaluated the safety and efficacy of HU on β-thalassemia patients were searched in Pub-Med, Cochrane Databases, Web of Science, China-Biology-Medicine, CNKI, Embase, VIP, and WanFang data. The proportions of response rate (RR) (50% fall in transfusion need in transfusion-dependent -thalassemia patients, or 1 g/dL elevate in hemoglobin (Hb) levels in transfusion-independent -thalassemia patients) and good RR (transfusion-free in transfusion-dependent -thalassemia patients or 2 g/dL elevate in Hb levels in transfusion-independent β-thalassemia patients) were utilized to evaluate the effect size (ES).

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most common subtype of hemorrhagic stroke causing significant morbidity and mortality. Previously clinical treatments for ICH have largely been based on a single pathophysiological perspective, and there remains a lack of curative interventions. Following the rupture of cerebral blood vessels, blood metabolites activate resident immune cells such as microglia and astrocytes, and infiltrate peripheral immune cells, leading to the release of a series of inflammatory mediators.

Background: The predictive role of the lymphocyte-associated inflammation index in post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) remains controversial. Therefore, we performed an updated meta-analysis to update the evidence.

Methods: This meta-analysis was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
