Advanced liver fibrosis can regress following the elimination of causative injuries. Glutamine synthetase (GS) immunohistochemical expression is normally in centrizonal perivenular hepatocytes but can be present in periportal hepatocytes in cases of regressed cirrhosis. This study identified periportal staining and investigated the spectrum of GS staining patterns seen in a range of cirrhotic livers with varying disease processes.

NLRC5, the largest member of the nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor (NLR) family, has been reported to participate in the regulation of immune function and is associated with chronic inflammatory diseases. However, the biological function of NLRC5 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been fully demonstrated. The aim of this study is to evaluate NLRC5 expression in the tumor tissues of HCC patients undergoing surgical treatment, assess its prognostic value, and explore its relationship with critical immune-related molecules within the tumor microenvironment.

Background: Salivary gland neoplasms (SGNs) pose a challenge to both pathologists and clinicians. Despite research, the etiology of these neoplasms remains unclear. This study aimed to identify any potential association between the presence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) at the protein or gene level and epithelial salivary gland neoplasms.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) developed highly intricates mechanisms exploiting host resources for its multiplication within a constrained genetic coding capacity. With the aid of a series of classical analytical methods such as ultrafiltration, and Southern and Northern blots, a general framework of HBV life cycle has been established. However, this picture still lacks many key histological contexts which involves pathophysiological changes of hepatocytes, non-parenchymal cells, infiltrated leukocytes, and associated extracellular matrix.
