In this article, we look at a selection of recent developments in various areas of endocrinology. We focus on advances in endocrine pharmacotherapy and endocrine surgery, addressing several areas: a) the thyroid safety of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP1) analogues; b) the efficacy of adrenal surgery for mild autonomous cortisol secretion; c) crinecerfont in the management of congenital adrenal hyperplasia in adults and children; d) paltusotin as a novel oral therapy for acromegaly and e) TransCon PTH (palopegteriparatide) as a novel therapy for chronic hypoparathyroidism.

Despite its rising prevalence and significant disease burden, effective pharmacological treatments have been limited to lifestyle modifications and surgical interventions. Recently, resmetirom, a thyroid hormone receptor-β agonist, received FDA approval for treating NASH, offering new hope to patients.

The intricate mechanisms underlying natural molecular motors have been elucidated in detail, inspiring researchers in various fields to construct artificial systems with multi-domain applications. This review summarises the characteristics of molecular motors, biomimetic approaches for their design and operation, and recent biological applications.

Objective: To further investigate the diagnostic value of serum creatinine to cystatin C ratio in the diagnosis of thyrotoxicosis.
Design: One hundred eighty four thyrotoxicosis patients and 406 healthy controls were enrolled.
