Background: Several studies have evaluated different cell cycle synchronization methods to improve reprogramming efficiency aimed at wild species conservation. The six-banded armadillo is one of the wild mammals with significant ecological and biomedical interests but has not yet been evaluated for reprogramming purposes.

Objective: We investigated the effects in a time-dependent manner of serum starvation (SS; 0.

Background: Anti- Aβ monoclonal antibodies are the first FDA-approved treatments for AD that slow cognitive decline and lower Aβ plaques. Our goal is to identify the epitope specificities of antibodies in human blood that are associated with AD and NC and determine the predicted protein targets of these antibodies.

Method: 101 AD (MMSE < 27) and 98 NC (MMSE > 27) serum samples were obtained from the UCI tissue repository.

Background: Studies using Alzheimer's disease (AD) models suggest that gut bacteria contribute to amyloid pathology and systemic inflammation. Further, gut-derived metabolites serve critical roles in regulating cholesterol, blood-brain barrier permeability, neuroinflammation, and circadian rhythms. Recent studies from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative have shown that serum-based gut-derived metabolites are associated with AD biomarkers and cognitive impairment.

Article Synopsis
  • Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), especially idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), lead to severe lung scarring, increased lung cancer risk, and poor patient outcomes, with a high incidence of mortality.
  • A study analyzed a cohort of 73 ILD patients with lung cancer, primarily focusing on 55 with comprehensive data, discovering significant predictors such as age at diagnosis, comorbidities, and gender differences in survival rates.
  • Key findings indicate that most tumors were adenocarcinomas, early detection is common, and factors like surgical treatment and autoantibody presence are important for predicting patient survival outcomes in those with IPF-associated lung cancer.

Pneumococcal infections are a serious health issue associated with increased morbidity and mortality. This systematic review evaluated the efficacy, effectiveness, immunogenicity, and safety of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV)15 compared to other pneumococcal vaccines or no vaccination in children and adults. We identified 20 randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
