The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) as the two major diseases are being focused by the public in modern societies. Previous epidemiological studies have shown increase in TMD prevalence during COVID-19 pandemic era. This study was aimed to verify the causal association between two sides using bidirectional mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

The aim of this literature review was to provide a brief perspective over the scientific research of the condition known as burning mouth syndrome. Information from review articles, original studies, and dissertations was gathered using keywords describing etiological factors, clinical, laboratory findings and treatment protocols. We compiled information on potential etiological factors, symptoms, and potential treatments from the fifty-three included studies on dental and general health issues in patients complaining of burning sensations in their mouths.

The zoonotic pathogen is responsible for diverse human diseases, from mild to life-threatening, but it often eludes detection in culture-based assays. This study investigates the potential of to enter a viable but nonculturable (VBNC) state when exposed to human fever temperature or antibiotics, with this state confirmed by successful resuscitation. Viability was assessed using SYBR Green I/PI staining and propidium monoazide-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PMA-qPCR), while culturability was determined through colony-forming unit (CFU) counting on blood agar plates.
