Posterior inferior cerebellar arteries originating from the vertebral arteries between the axis and the atlas were demonstrated angiographically in a 12-year-old boy. The patient presented with tetraparesis of sudden onset after a gymnastic exercise. There was no recognizable trauma.

The present work characterized the effects of hydration on the viscoelastic tensile properties of the sclera. Scleral strips were dissected from the posterior region near the optic nerve head of porcine eyes in the superior-inferior direction. The samples were divided into four hydration groups and their mechanical response was characterized by conducting uniaxial tensile stress-relaxation experiments.

Objective: Inferior pole patellar fractures (IPPFs) pose a significant challenge due to their complex fracture patterns and high risk of complications associated with current treatment methods. This study aims to (1) characterize the fracture patterns of IPPFs using fracture mapping and (2) compare the biomechanical stability and clinical outcomes of treatment with anchor suture with patellar cerclage versus Kirschner-wire tension band combined with patellar cerclage.
Methods: (1) A retrospective analysis was conducted on 61 patients with IPPF.

The sphenoidal sinus septum is one of the most important landmarks during endonasal endoscopic transsphe-noidal operations. During routine coronal sectioning of the face, we found a variant Y-shaped septum in the sphenoidal sinus of a female cadaver. This unusual septum was found between two sections (anterior and posterior sections) and located inferior to the pituitary gland.
