Cellulose Elementary Fibrils as Deagglomerated Binder for High-Mass-Loading Lithium Battery Electrodes.

Nanomicro Lett

January 2025

Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Yonsei University, 50 Yonsei-Ro, Seodaemun-Gu, Seoul, 03722, Republic of Korea.

Amidst the ever-growing interest in high-mass-loading Li battery electrodes, a persistent challenge has been the insufficient continuity of their ion/electron conduction pathways. Here, we propose cellulose elementary fibrils (CEFs) as a class of deagglomerated binder for high-mass-loading electrodes. Derived from natural wood, CEF represents the most fundamental unit of cellulose with nanoscale diameter.

The PurR family transcriptional regulator promotes butenyl-spinosyn production in Saccharopolyspora pogona.

Appl Microbiol Biotechnol

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Medical Molecule Science and Pharmaceutics Engineering, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Institute of Biochemical Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, 100081, China.

Butenyl-spinosyn, derived from Saccharopolyspora pogona, is a broad-spectrum and effective bioinsecticide. However, the regulatory mechanism affecting butenyl-spinosyn synthesis has not been fully elucidated, which hindered the improvement of production. Here, a high-production strain S.

Background: Blood-based biomarkers, especially P-tau217, have been gaining interest as diagnostic tools to measure Alzheimer disease (AD) pathology.

Methods: We developed a plasma P-tau217 chemiluminescent immunoassay using 4G10E2 and IBA493 as antibodies, a synthetic tau peptide as calibrator, and the Quanterix SP-X imager. Analytical validation performed in a College of American Pathologists-accredited CLIA laboratory involved multiple kit lots, operators, timepoints, and imagers.

Aldolases, especially 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase (DERA) enzymes, have been widely employed to access key chiral precursors for various active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). This has been enabled by expanding their substrate scope toward non-natural acceptors and donors via protein engineering. In this study, we endeavored to broaden the acceptor substrate scope of DERA from sp.

Background: Synthetic cannabinoids are one of the most identified abused drugs nowadays. Their popularity is due to their psychoactive effects, which resemble delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol. This study investigates the genotoxic potential of three synthetic cannabinoids of indazole-passed drugs, AB-Fubinaca, AMBFubinaca, and EMB-Fubinaca (at a final concentration of 200 nM).
