Adaptive optics (AO) improves the spatial resolution of microscopy by correcting optical aberrations. While its application has been well established in microscopy modalities utilizing a circular pupil, its adaptation to systems with non-circular pupils, such as Bessel-focus two-photon fluorescence microscopy (2PFM) with an annular pupil, remains relatively uncharted. Herein, we present a modal focal AO (MFAO) method for Bessel-focus 2PFM.

In this work, we unveil the advantages of synergizing cooperative rate splitting (CRS) with user relaying and simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR RIS). Specifically, we propose a novel STAR RIS-assisted CRS transmission framework, featuring six unique transmission modes that leverage various combinations of the relaying protocols (including full duplex-FD and half duplex-HD) and the STAR RIS configuration protocols (including energy splitting-ES, mode switching-MS, and time splitting-TS). With the objective of maximizing the minimum user rate, we then propose a unified successive convex approximation (SCA)-based alternative optimization (AO) algorithm to jointly optimize the transmit active beamforming, common rate allocation, STAR RIS passive beamforming, as well as time allocation (for HD or TS protocols) subject to the transmit power constraint at the base station (BS) and the law of energy conservation at the STAR RIS.

In recent years, automated reaction path search methods have established the concept of a reaction route network. The Reaction Space Projector (ReSPer) visualizes the potential energy hypersurface into a lower-dimensional subspace using principal coordinates. The main time-consuming process in ReSPer is calculating the structural distance matrix, making it impractical for complex organic reaction route networks.

Background: Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare, potentially life-threatening skin disease often requiring long-term therapy. We aimed to evaluate the use of Interleukin (IL)-17A inhibitors (secukinumab and ixekizumab) in GPP patients over 96 weeks.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a case series of 18 patients with GPP who received secukinumab (n = 13) and ixekizumab (n = 5) therapy with a 96-week follow-up period.
