Today, active packaging has become essential to increase food safety and decrease food spoilage. In this study, the aim was to delay spoilage and increase the shelf life of rainbow fish fillets with a new hybrid nanocomposite active packaging. Packaging was fabricated with Ethylene vinyl acetate and active compounds such as rosemary extract, zinc oxide nanoparticles, and modified iron (Fe-MMT).

This case highlights that refractory pancytopenia leading to death can occur with methimazole treatment even at a very low cumulative dose and after a very short duration of exposure. In addition, the standard treatments to correct the pancytopenia may not be effective and a bone marrow transplant may be required. Current American Thyroid Association guidelines do not recommend routine monitoring of the complete blood count in patients receiving thionamides because of the rapidity of the onset of agranulocytosis and the lack of positive evidence that such monitoring would be useful.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a highly prevalent liver pathology in need of novel pharmacological treatments to complement lifestyle-based interventions. Nuclear receptor agonists have been under scrutiny as potential pharmacological targets and as of today, resmetirom, a thyroid hormone receptor b agonist, is the only approved agent. The dual PPAR α and δ agonist elafibranor has also undergone extensive clinical testing, which reached the phase III clinical trial but failed to demonstrate a beneficial effect on MASLD.

The escape of organic cations over time from defective perovskite interface leads to non-stoichiometric terminals, significantly affecting the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). How to stabilize the interface composition under environmental stress remains a grand challenge. To address this issue, we utilize thiol-functionalized particles as a "seed" and conduct in situ polymerization of 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFMA) as a "root" at the bottom of the perovskite layer.

Metallofullerenols and fullerenols have attracted attention due to their remarkable ability to interact with various biologically relevant molecules, paving the way for biomedical applications, ranging from medical imaging techniques to drug carriers, acting with increased efficiency and reduced side effects. In this work, we investigated the effects of two fullerene derivatives, Gd@C(OH) and C(OH), on erythrocyte membrane components under oxidative stress conditions induced by 2,2'-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH) as a source of peroxyl radicals. The results demonstrated that gadolinium encapsulation within the fullerene cage enhanced the electron affinity of Gd@C(OH), resulting in stronger antioxidant activity.
