Carnosine is an endogenous dipeptide characterized by a multimodal mechanism of action. However, its clinical potential is limited by serum and cytosolic carnosinases, which significantly reduce its bioavailability. Based on that, different research groups have worked on the development of new strategies able not only to prevent its rapid metabolization but also to improve its distribution and specific targeting.

The success of DNA analytical methods, including long-read sequencing, depends on the availability of high-quality, purified DNA. Previously, we developed a method and device for isolating high-molecular-weight (HMW) DNA for long-read sequencing using a high-salt gel electroelution trap. Here, we present an improved version of this method for purifying nucleic acids with high yield and purity from even the most challenging biological samples.

Purpose: The Gram-positive bacterium is one of the leading causes of infection in humans. The lack of specific noninvasive techniques for diagnosis of staphylococcal infection together with the severity of its associated complications support the need for new specific and selective diagnostic tools. This work presents the successful synthesis of an immunotracer that targets the -toxin released by .

Designing new, verified methodologies with a focus on sustainability, analytical efficiency, simplicity, and the environment has become a major priority for pharmaceutical quality control units. In this way, sustainable and selective separation-based methodologies were designed and validated for the concurrent estimation of amiloride hydrochloride (AML), hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) and timolol maleate (TIM) in their fixed dose formulation (Moducren Tablets) along with hydrochlorothiazide potential impurities, salamide (DSA) and chlorothiazide (CT). The first method is a high performance thin layer chromatographic method (HPTLC-densitometry).

We present a new prototype device and propose a new analytical technique: high performance (high pressure) layer electrochromatography (HPLEC). The equipment provides a combination of overpressured layer chromatography (OPLC) and pressurized planar electrochromatography (PPEC), yet it still enables researchers to perform each of these analyses separately. In comparison to PPEC, HPLEC provides hydrodynamic flow of the mobile phase, irrespective of the voltage used and the mobile phase composition.
