Viljuisk encephalomyelitis (VE) is a severe neurologic disease characterized by slow progressive dementia', oligobradykinesia, low spastic paraparesis and speech disturbances. It develops in persons of 20-50 years old. VE occurs in a small region of middle Viljui, but for last years the focus has considerably expanded. Etiology of VE is still obscure. 194 families with VE patients were examined. The data obtained contradict the hypothesis of simple recessive inheritance of VE. The value of the heredity coefficient, calculated on the basis of the Falconer - Edwards model, is 22-29% for relatives of the first relation degree. It suggests the existence of individual hereditary determined susceptibility to VE. 14 secondary cases were observed in affected families among adopted relatives (adopted children, husbands and wives of patients) with a rate exceeding random possible frequency. These observations have been evaluated as an evidence of horizontal transmission of the disease from patients with chronic forms to healthy persons. Obligatory condition for the transmission consists in a long-term contact (as a rule, more than one year). According to all known characteristics VE should be refferred to slow infections.

The mungbean yellow mosaic India virus (MYMIV, Begomovirus vignaradiataindiaense) causes Yellow Mosaic Disease (YMD) in mungbean (Vigna radiata L.). The biochemical assays including total phenol content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), ascorbic acid (AA), DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), and FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) were used to study the mungbean plants defense response to MYMIV infection.

The inclusion of microalgae in functional fish diets has a notable impact on the welfare, metabolism and physiology of the organism. The microbial communities associated with the fish are directly influenced by the host's diet, and further understanding the impact on mucosal microbiota is needed. This study aimed to analyze the microbiota associated with the skin and gills of Sparus aurata fed a diet containing 10% microalgae.

Astrocyte to neuron reprogramming has been performed using viral delivery of neurogenic transcription factors in GFAP expressing cells. Recent reports of off-target expression in cortical neurons following adeno-associated virus (AAV) transduction to deliver the neurogenic factors have confounded our understanding of the efficacy of direct cellular reprogramming. To shed light on potential mechanisms that may underlie the neuronal off-target expression of GFAP promoter driven expression of neurogenic factors in neurons, two regionally distinct cortices were compared-the motor cortex (MC) and medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC)-and investigated: (1) the regional tropism and astrocyte transduction with an AAV5-GFAP vector, (2) the expression of Gfap in MC and mPFC neurons; and (3) material transfer between astrocytes and neurons.

Methamphetamine use disorder has emerged as a significant public health concern globally. This study endeavors to elucidate the alterations in expression changes of miRNAs in the plasma of methamphetamine use disorder and elucidate the alterations in miRNA expression in the plasma of individuals with methamphetamine use disorder and investigate the relationship between these differentially expressed miRNAs and the disorder itself, cravings for methamphetamine, and associated mental disorders. Furthermore, the study seeks to clarify the expression of downstream target molecules of specific miRNAs in the plasma of methamphetamine use disorder, assess the diagnostic utility of these miRNAs and their target molecules, explore their potential as biomarkers, and identify potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of methamphetamine use disorder.
