Rosmarinic acid (RA) is a natural antioxidant known for its diverse biological activities. Although its diuretic activity has been previously established, the mode of action remained unclear. To investigate this, we examined the diuretic activity of RA alone and in combination with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), amiloride (AML), atropine (ATR), and indomethacin (INDO) to see if any of these drugs could interfere with RA's activity in an 8 hour acute diuresis animal model.

Hydrochlorothiazide is an extremely important diuretic that regulates body functions, which can prevent several diseases. However, the abuse of this diuretic is concerning since it does not require a medical prescription, particularly for aesthetic purposes such as weight loss, which can lead to various health problems, including ventricular arrhythmia. The present work aims to use a glassy carbon electrode modified with Super P carbon black (SPCB/GCE) to quantify hydrochlorothiazide through Linear Sweep Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry (LSAdSV).

Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) is a rare genetic disorder primarily associated with mutations in the arginine vasopressin receptor 2 () gene or the aquaporin 2 () gene, resulting in impaired water reabsorption in the renal tubules. This report describes a case of a young male patient with NDI from China with a history of polydipsia and polyuria for over 15 years. Laboratory examinations of the proband indicated low urine-specific gravity and osmolality.

Aim: In rodent models of nephrotic syndrome (NS), edema formation was prevented by blockade of the epithelial sodium channel ENaC with amiloride. However, apart from case reports, there is no evidence favoring ENaC blockade in patients with NS.
Methods: The monocentric randomized controlled AMILOR study investigated the antiedematous effect of amiloride (starting dose 5 mg/day, max.
