Enhancer RNA (eRNA) has emerged as a key player in cancer biology, influencing various aspects of tumor development and progression. In this study, we investigated the role of eRNAs in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), the most common subtype of renal cell carcinoma. Leveraging high-throughput sequencing data and bioinformatics analysis, we identified differentially expressed eRNAs in KIRC and constructed eRNA-centric regulatory networks.

Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of cancer. The"Warburg effect", also known as aerobic glycolysis, is an essential part of metabolic reprogramming and a central contributor to cancer progression. Moreover, hypoxia is one of the significant features of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

Department of Cardiology, the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing 210029, Jiangsu Province, China. Electronic address:

Aims: Angiogenesis is tightly controlled by growth factors and cytokines in pathophysiological settings. Despite the importance of Interleukin 29 (IL-29), a newly identified cytokine of type III interferon family, its role in angiogenesis remains unknown. We aimed to elucidate IL-29's impact on angiogenesis under both and physiological and pathological conditions.

Ovarian cancer is a common malignant tumor in women, exhibiting a certain sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs like gemcitabine (GEM). This study, through the analysis of ovarian cancer single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data and transcriptome data post-GEM treatment, identifies the pivotal role of hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-1α) in regulating the treatment process. The results reveal that HIF-1α modulates the expression of VEGF-B, thereby inhibiting the fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2)/FGFR1 signaling pathway and impacting tumor formation.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a complex structure involved in many biological processes with collagen being the most abundant protein. Density of collagen fibers in the matrix is a factor influencing cell motility and migration speed. In cancer, this affects the ability of cells to migrate and invade distant tissues which is relevant for designing new therapies.
