Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease (LCPD) involves femoral head osteonecrosis caused by disrupted blood supply, leading to joint deformity and early osteoarthritis. This study investigates the role of miRNA-223-5p in regulating hypoxia-induced apoptosis and enhancing osteogenesis in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). Utilizing a juvenile New Zealand white rabbit model of LCPD established through femoral neck ligation, we transfected BMSCs with miR-223-5p mimics, inhibitors, and controls, followed by hypoxic exposure.

However, such events are often unpredictable, especially with anthropogenic disturbances and climate-related environmental changes driving unforeseen threats. In New Zealand, the frequency and intensity of marine heatwaves (MHWs) and blooms of the harmful algal species, Alexandrium pacificum, are increasing in areas where there are natural reefs and commercial farms of the mussel, Perna canaliculus. In this study, we assessed the whole organism, tissue and molecular-level response of juvenile (spat) P. canaliculus exposed to these abiotic and biotic stressors, alone and together.

Introduction: Data from the Pediatric Rheumatology Care and Outcomes Improvement Network (PR-COIN) registry suggests that reliable collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) varies across sites. The objective of this study was to better understand the practices of collecting PROs at PR-COIN sites.
Methods: A REDCap survey was sent to the lead representative for each PR-COIN site.
