The COVID-19 pandemic directly impacted well-being and healthcare delivery, but its indirect effects on health services utilization among pregnant women and new mothers remain less understood. Understanding how big events like pandemics impact health behaviors is essential for anticipating healthcare needs during future crises. This study examined how the perceived COVID-19 threat influenced health concerns and service utilization among 378 participants who were either pregnant or mothers of infants less than 12 months old, 18 years or older, and lived within a 50-mile radius of healthcare sites in the OneFlorida+ Clinical Research Consortium.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the timing and mode of failure of metallic screw-type suture anchors used to attach artificial tendons to bone in an New Zealand White rabbit model.

Study Design: Metal suture anchors with braided composite sutures of varying sizes (United States Pharmacopeia (USP) size 1, 2, or 5) were used to secure artificial tendons replacing both the Achilles and tibialis cranialis tendons in 12 female New Zealand White rabbits. Artificial tendons were implanted either at the time of (immediate replacement,  = 8), or four/five weeks after (delayed replacement,  = 4) resection of the biological tendon.

This review examines the efficiency of live animal and meat value chain from producers to consumers in Ethiopia. Ethiopia has a large livestock population, but the marketing system for live animals and meat remains underdeveloped. Several challenges hinder efficient transactions, including poor infrastructure, illegal cross-border trade, lack of market information, traditional production methods, and absence of grading systems.

Objectives: With nearly 50,000 people having died since 2016 as a result of the unregulated toxic drug supply, novel approaches to care are needed. A small number of Safer Stimulant Supply programs have been piloted in Canada, which seek to provide a pharmaceutical-grade stimulant medication replacement for the toxic unregulated stimulant supply. In this paper, we describe the results of retrospective Safer Stimulant Supply program medical chart reviews.
