Discoveries in nanotechnologies are placing a great deal of attention on greener strategies that use harmless substances and moderated reactions to promote healthy development. This work used a straightforward, innovative, and cost-effective sustainable approach to produce bio-augmented TiO nanometer-sized particles (NMSP) by applying a water-based extract of the star fruit as a stabilization and reduction agent. A variety of techniques, comprising UV-Vis, XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM with EDAX, and TEM, have been employed to investigate the formed TiO NMSP.

The use of heterojunction photocatalysts for pollutant decomposition has garnered significant interest in mitigating water contamination and environmental pollution. Our present study focuses on synthesizing BiO/SbS heterojunction photocatalyst having variable mole ratios by employing a hydrothermal technique. Loading SbS onto BiO enables broad-spectrum solar light absorption, efficient segregation of charges, and enhanced surface area, which are excellent traits for photocatalysis.

Many studies of azobenzene photoswitches are carried out in polar aprotic solvents as a first principles characterization of thermal isomerization. Among the most convenient polar aprotic solvents are chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as DCM. However, studies of azobenzene thermal isomerization in such solvents have led to spurious, inconclusive, and irreproducible results, even when scrupulously cleaned and dried, a phenomenon not well understood.

Computations based on density functional theory are carried out to examine the mechanism of photocatalytic oxidation of methane to methanol with HO as oxidant and water as co-catalyst over anatase TiO(101) surface. The reaction proceeds with hydrogen abstraction from methane followed by the formation of surface methoxy species, which is reduced to methanol. We compare the reaction energetics for C-H dissociation in the presence and absence of surface defect, but find no discernible impact of O-vacancy on methane oxidation.

The fabrication of the green strategy of metallic oxide creation provides considerable profits via a minimum of effort, making it an acceptable substitute to the most laborious and challenging conventional processes. The suggested approach involved the creation of titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticles through Orthosiphon stamineus extracts of leaves. The synthesized nanoparticles (NPs) were then characterized using XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM with EDX, and UV-visible spectroscopy.
