23 patients were examined who in the ultrasound-Doppler-pressure measurement were evident by too large peripheral systolic measuring values. On the X-ray pictures of the soft tissues of these patients more or less expressed linear and longitudinal calcifications of the vascular wall in the sense of a Mönckeberg sclerosis of the media were to be proved. Though these changes of the arteries which are to be established in most cases in diabetics of older age do not cause, as a rule, any disturbances of the peripheral blood supply, they are of clinical interest, since they falsify the results of indirect measurements of the pressure (pseudohypertension). An arterial obstructive disease which is simultaneously present may possibly been overseen and the false diagnosis of a therapy-resistant arterial hypertension may be made.

Pregnancies in women with Fontan circulation are on the rise, and they are known to imply high maternal and fetal complication rates. The altered hemodynamic profile of univentricular circulation affects placental development and function. This study describes placental sonomorphologic appearance and Doppler examinations and correlates these to histopathologic findings and pregnancy outcomes in women with Fontan circulation.

Objectives: Renal venous congestion due to backward heart failure leads to disturbance of renal function in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). Whether decongestion strategies have an impact on renal venous congestion is unknown. Objective was to evaluate changes in intrarenal hemodynamics using intrarenal Doppler ultrasonography (IRD) in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and ADHF undergoing recompensation.

Introduction And Objectives: Repeated joint bleeding in haemophilia patients may lead to haemophilic arthropathy with marked inflammation and synovitis. This study investigated the potential of F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography ( F-FDG PET/CT) as a novel diagnostic method for haemophilic arthropathy.
Materials And Methods: We recruited 20 adult haemophilia patients who reported history of hemarthroses in the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, or ankle joints.

Purpose: As a Doppler sonographic parameter, the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) provides information about fetal hemodynamics and the redistribution of fetal blood volume in response to a metabolic change. The present study was undertaken to determine the extent to which CPR can be used as a valid parameter in routine obstetric assessment. We investigated whether CPR can be used to assess the neonatal outcome in appropriate for gestational age (AGA) fetuses and its association with secondary cesarean section due to fetal distress.
