Dendritic cell derived exosomes loaded neoantigens for personalized cancer immunotherapies.

J Control Release

January 2023

Beijing Key Laboratory of Molecular Pharmaceutics and New Drug Delivery System, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peking University, Beijing 100191, PR China. Electronic address:

Despite the promising potential of cancer vaccine, their efficacy has been limited in clinical trials and improved methods are urgently needed. Here we designed a nanovaccine platform that contains dendritic cell derived exosomes carriers and patient-specific neoantigens for individualized immunotherapies. The nanovaccine exhibited convenient cargo loading and prolonged cargo transportation to the lymph nodes, followed by eliciting potent antigen specific broad-spectrum T-cell and B-cell-mediated immune responses with great biosafety and biocompatibility.

Deadspace is the tissue and bony defect in a surgical wound after closure. This space is presumably poorly perfused favouring bacterial proliferation and biofilm formation. In arthroplasty surgery, an obligate deadspace surrounding the prosthesis is introduced and deadspace management, in combination with obtaining therapeutic prophylactic antibiotic concentrations, is important for limiting the risk of acquiring a periprosthetic joint infection (PJI).

Antimicrobial agent usage data are essential for focusing efforts to reduce misuse and overuse of antimicrobial agents in food producing animals because these practices may select for resistance in bacteria of animals. Transfer of resistant bacteria from animals to humans can lead to human infection caused by resistant pathogens. Resistant infections can lead to treatment failures, resulting in prolonged or more severe illness.

Background: Laparoscopic bypass surgery for the palliation of gastric and biliary obstruction is associated with a rapid recovery. This study aimed to extend its application to other aspects in the management of patients with periampullary cancer.

Methods: Between 2001 and 2004, 21 patients (median age, 68 years) underwent laparoscopic gastric (n = 8), biliary (n = 5), and combined gastric and biliary (n = 8) bypass.

Prolonged, continuous distal limb cryotherapy in the horse.

Equine Vet J

April 2004

Australian Equine Laminitis Research Unit, School of Veterinary Science, Faculty of Natural Resources Agriculture and Veterinary Science, The University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Queensland 4072, Australia.

Reasons For Performing Study: The recommended duration of cryotherapy in horses is currently extrapolated from human medicine. Prolonged, continuous cryotherapy (days rather than minutes) may be of therapeutic value if it is safe and well tolerated.

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of prolonged, continuous application of ice and water to the equine distal limb.
