Background: The approval of new disease-modifying therapies by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicine Agency makes it necessary to optimize non-invasive and cost-effective tools for the identification of subjects at-risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease (AD).

Spinal cord injury (SCI) impairs the central nervous system and induces the myelin-sheath-deterioration because of reactive oxygen species (ROS), further hindering the recovery of function. Herein, the simultaneously emergency treatment and dynamic luminescence severity assessment (SETLSA) strategy is designed for SCI based on cerium (Ce)-doped upconversion antioxidant nanoenzymes (Ce@UCNP-BCH). Ce@UCNP-BCH can not only efficiently eliminate the SCI localized ROS, but dynamically monitor the oxidative state in the SCI repair process using a ratiometric luminescence signal.

: Exsanguination is a leading cause of preventable death in military and civilian settings due to extensive blood loss and hemorrhagic shock, which trigger systemic effects such as impaired tissue perfusion, hypoxia, inflammation, and multi-organ dysfunction. Standard resuscitation restores blood volume but fails to address critical aspects of hemorrhagic shock, including inflammation, coagulopathy, and reperfusion injury. To address these limitations, novel phospholipid nanoparticle (PNP)-based resuscitative fluids, VBI-S and VBI-1, were developed to modulate nitric oxide (NO) levels, improving hemodynamic stability, tissue oxygenation, and reducing inflammatory injury.

Background And Aims: Dried blood spots (DBS) have been proposed as a cost-effective surveillance method for population-wide screening of SARS-CoV-2 immunity but sensitivity of DBS based on self-collected DBS samples is unknown. To evaluate the success of vaccination strategies, it is necessary to differentiate vaccination from natural infection. Therefore, a test for antibodies against the viral nucleocapsid protein (anti-N) is desirable.

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of progressive drought stress (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% of field capacity) on photosynthetic light reactions of tomato plants. The imposed drought caused a gradual reduction in leaf RWC leading to a decline in pigment concentration and growth indices. Significant alteration in the OJIP fluorescence transient curves and the formation of specific fluorescence bands (L, K, J, H, and G) gradually increased as drought severity increased.
