During the last decade, several new drugs and classes of drugs have become available for breast cancer treatment. Thus, in addition to tamoxifen we have got several new selective oestrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) with a partially different pharmacological profile. The first generation aromatase inhibitor, aminoglutethimide, has been replaced by more potent and less toxic inhibitors belonging to the triazole class (anastrozole and letrozole) and, more recently, the steroidal aromatase inactivator exemestane [1-3].

Analysis of present concepts of clinico-pharmacological correlations in depression shows the necessity of search for new approaches to the problem. The original clinical model of depression, based on the idea of positive and negative affectivity in its structure is discussed. When applied to therapeutical strategy these principals elucidate new clinical signs for choice of appropriate class of antidepressants.

In the past decade, notable advances have been made with regard to understanding the clinical, biological and epidermological aspects of the basic disorders of development (TPD), particularly autism. Nevertheless, our knowledge of the neurobiological basis is still limited. This has impeded the development of drugs which correct the defect and cure the illness.

Methotrexate (MTX) and 6-mercaptopurine (6MP) have been used since 30 years in the maintenance treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) of childhood. A synergistic effect of this combination was demonstrated in mouse and childhood leukemia. In this article an overview is given of our investigations, concerning the biochemical basis of this synergism.
