Background: Invasive procedures and environmental factors in the intensive care unit (ICU) may cause anxiety and discomfort in patients, who often require sedation therapy. The aim of this study was to assess the safety of remimazolam tosilate for procedural sedation in ICU patients receiving mechanical ventilation following endotracheal intubation. Eighty patients from a single centre were randomly assigned to either the propofol group or the remimazolam group.

Tracheal adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare malignancy. We report the case of a 65-year-old male who presented to our department due to a 3-month history of mild dysphagia without other associated symptoms. The neck, laryngeal, and hypopharyngeal examinations were normal.

In this review, we extensively discuss the pathophysiology, technical aspects, preprocedural preparation, anesthetic management, and postprocedural challenges of many new procedures such as navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial valve deployment, and bronchial thermoplasty.
