The rapid emergence of antimicrobial-resistant pathogenic microbes has accelerated the search for novel therapeutic agents. Here we report the discovery of antarmycin A (), an antibiotic containing a symmetric 16-membered macrodiolide core with two pendant vancosamine moieties, one of which is glucosylated, from deep-sea-derived SCSIO 07407. The biosynthetic gene cluster of was identified on a giant plasmid featuring transferable elements.

With the aging population, the incidence of diabetes is increasing. Diabetes often leads to restricted neovascularization, antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections, reduced wound perfusion, and elevated reactive oxygen species, resulting in impaired microenvironments and prolonged wound healing. Hydrogels are important tissue engineering materials for wound healing, known for their high water content and good biocompatibility.

This research aims to develop YCuMnO double perovskite, using a citrate auto combustion method, to be used as a photocatalyst for the degradation of organic dyes and antibiotics. XRD and Raman characterization revealed the synthesis of pure-phase YCuMnO double perovskite. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results show the presence of +4 and +2 oxidation states of Mn and Cu ions.

In this research, the preparation of copper cobaltite (CuCoO) nanorods and its potential application in photoelectrochemical sensing platform towards ultrasensitive detection of furazolidone are reported. X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-visible spectroscopy have been performed to confirm the formation, morphology, phase composition, and optical properties of CuCoO synthesized by a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The electrochemical characteristic parameters were calculated electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and chronoamperometry techniques in the absence and presence of laser light irradiation.
