Background And Aims: Current gastric cancer (GC) screening modalities are invasive and expensive. Noninvasive screening for GC precursors with serum pepsinogen (PG) may improve early detection and prevention. Test characteristics of PG based on US prospective data was recently reported and used to study the cost-effectiveness of PG screening vs no screening in the US.

Background: Gastric epithelial neoplasm of the fundic-gland mucosa lineages (GEN-FGMLs) are rare forms of gastric tumors that encompass oxyntic gland adenoma (OGA), gastric adenocarcinoma of the fundic-gland type (GA-FG), and gastric adenocarcinoma of the fundic-gland mucosa type (GA-FGM). There is no consensus on the cause, classification, and clinicopathological features of GEN-FGMLs, and misdiagnosis is common because of similarities in symptoms.

Methods: 37 cases diagnosed with GEN-FGMLs were included in this study.

CAS and Shandong Province Key Laboratory of Experimental Marine Biology, Center for Ocean Mega-Science, Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao, China; Laboratory for Marine Biology and Biotechnology, Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, Qingdao, China. Electronic address:

To solve the high mortality rate of early-stage larval feed conversion during aquaculture in Oplegnathus punctatus, the investigation of the structural and functional characteristics of the gastric tissue was conducted. Histological results showed that the gastric gland rudiment appeared at 17 dph. The basic structure of the stomach was fully developed between 26 and 35 dph.

Background/aims: : A latex agglutination turbidity (LA) assay to test for serum antibodies has been approved in Japan and Korea for mass screening of infection. In this study, we evaluated the LA assay for diagnosing infection and predicting gastric mucosal changes in a Mongolian population.

Methods: : In total, 484 individuals were classified into -positive (n=356) and -negative (n=128) groups, as determined by histology and culture.

Article Synopsis
  • Non-Helicobacter pylori Helicobacter (NHPH) may be linked to gastric diseases, but its relationship with gastric cancer is unclear.
  • This study analyzed tissue samples from 73 gastric cancer patients to assess the frequency and impact of NHPH infections compared to previous gastritis-related disease findings.
  • Results indicated no significant differences in NHPH infection rates based on Helicobacter pylori infection status or in relation to the severity of gastritis or gastric cancer characteristics, suggesting that NHPH may not play a crucial role in gastric cancer development in this group.
