Background: A number of efforts have been made to tailor behavioral healthcare treatments to the variable needs of patients with low back pain (LBP). The most common approach involves the STarT Back Screening Tool (SBST) to triage the need for psychologically informed care, which explores concerns about pain and addresses unhelpful beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. Such beliefs that pain always signifies injury or tissue damage and that exercise should be avoided have been implied as psychosocial mediators of chronic pain and can impede recovery.

Classifying the molecular subtype of breast cancer using vision transformer and convolutional neural network features.

Breast Cancer Res Treat

January 2025

Department of Radiological Technology, Faculty of Medical Technology, Niigata University of Health and Welfare, 1398 Shimamichou, Kita-Ku, Niigata, Japan.

Purpose: Identification of the molecular subtypes in breast cancer allows to optimize treatment strategies, but usually requires invasive needle biopsy. Recently, non-invasive imaging has emerged as promising means to classify them. Magnetic resonance imaging is often used for this purpose because it is three-dimensional and highly informative.

CTCNet: a fine-grained classification network for fluorescence images of circulating tumor cells.

Med Biol Eng Comput

January 2025

Anhui BioX-Vision Biological Technology Co., Ltd, Hefei, 230031, Anhui, China.

The identification and categorization of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in peripheral blood are imperative for advancing cancer diagnostics and prognostics. The intricacy of various CTCs subtypes, coupled with the difficulty in developing exhaustive datasets, has impeded progress in this specialized domain. To date, no methods have been dedicated exclusively to overcoming the classification challenges of CTCs.

Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) RNA is an important serum biomarker of hepatic covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) transcriptional activity; however, its clinical characteristics remain unclear. This study evaluated the clinical utility of HBV RNA levels in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB).

Methods: We studied 87 CHB patients with serum HBV DNA levels ≥ 5.

Purpose: Spine surgery, particularly deformity correction, is associated with a high risk of peri-operative or post-operative complications, and these complications can lead to catastrophic consequences. This case report will present the etiology and treatment process of the peri-operative cardiac arrest during scoliosis correction surgery.

Method: In this report, we present a case of cardiac arrest during posterior correction surgery in a 17-year-old female patient with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
