Recurrent acute pancreatitis (RAP) affects 15-36% of children with acute pancreatitis (AP) and may progress to chronicity. To determine the etiology and evolution of RAP, a descriptive retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients aged 1-18 years. Twelve patients with RAP were included out of 79 with AP, and demographic, etiological, clinical, analytical, and imaging data were collected.

Hepatocellular carcinoma remains a significant threat to human health. Recent studies have found that the intake of cellular cholesterol contributes to the development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma, although the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Our analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic databases has identified increased mRNA and protein expression levels of NPC1, a cholesterol intracellular transporter protein, in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues.

Background: Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is the most sensitive method for diagnosing chronic pancreatitis (CP) in its early stages, and Rosemont Classification (RC) is used for its evaluation. Data on the correlation between EUS features and pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) are limited. We investigated the correlation between the EUS findings and PEI.

A 12-year-old female spayed Domestic Shorthair cat presented with a 4-day history of lethargy, inappetence and vomiting. Physical findings included a grade 2/6 heart murmur and cranial abdominal pain on palpation. Serum biochemistry revealed elevated total bilirubin and liver enzymes activities.
