Centimeter-Sized CsPbBr Single-Crystal Films for Energy-Resolved Radiation Detection.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Beijing Key Laboratory of Construction-Tailorable Advanced Functional Materials and Green Applications Experimental Center of Advanced Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing 100081, China.

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) are promising materials for radiation detection. Compared with polycrystalline films, single crystals (SCs) have lower defect density, higher carrier mobility, and lifetime. However, the direct synthesis of MHP SCs for large-area flat panel imaging detectors remains challenging.

Understanding the folding and unfolding mechanism of the protein is not only crucial in applications like biomedical, pharmaceutical, tissue engineering but also to the food industry. In the present study, an electron beam with 6 MeV energy derived from the Microtron accelerator was utilized to irradiate the aqueous solution of bovine serum albumin (BSA) at fluences of 5 × 10 and 10 × 10 e/cm. The control and irradiated BSA solutions were analyzed using UV-visible and FTIR spectroscopy.

Excitons in two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors are particularly exciting, as reduced screening and dimensional confinement foster their pronounced many-body interactions. Optical pumping is typically used to create excitons so as to study their properties, but at the same time such pumping can also create unbound charge carriers. This makes experimental determination of the exciton-exciton interactions difficult.

Effect of Xenon Ion Irradiation on the Properties of Austenitic Steel AISI 316.

Materials (Basel)

October 2024

Department of Physics, Institute of Physics, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, Pl. Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej 1, 20-031 Lublin, Poland.

This study investigated changes in the crystal lattice, tribological properties and friction mechanism of AISI 316 steel irradiated with swift 160 MeV xenon ions. The irradiation process caused the increased roughness of the steel surface and the swelling of the material. The thickness of the irradiated layer increased by about 13 nm.
