The significance of as a foodborne pathogen is increasingly acknowledged, but the assessment of its occurrence and transmission remains challenging due to the lack of validation of selective isolation, detection, and identification methods. The aim of the present study was to examine its presence on various meat samples at the retail level in order to assess a potential foodborne transmission and its occurrence in clinical stool samples. First, the evaluation and selection of a selective enrichment broth and isolation medium, combined with an optimized identification by MALDI-TOF MS, as well as a suitable DNA extraction method and a PCR-based detection strategy were developed.

Background: Veterinary autogenous vaccines, similar to all injectable pharmaceutical products, must be tested to assess endotoxin concentrations. The Limulus Amebocyte Lysate Test (LAL test) is widely used in in vitro quality control assays for endotoxin detection, although it presents some ethical issues related to the production of reagents and is also characterized by a low specificity due to other contaminants that can activate the reaction. For all these reasons, a new recombinant factor C LAL test was developed.

Plastic pollution presents a significant environmental problem contributing to increased CO emissions and persistently accumulation in ecosystems. Biobased polymers, like polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), offer a part of a solution with their biodegradability and reduced carbon footprint. However, effective end-of-life strategies, such as controlled enzymatic depolymerization, are crucial for sustainability, relying on efficient PHA depolymerases (PHAases).

Human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) expression is an important biomarker for the management of RAS wild-type metastatic colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Immunohistochemistry (IHC) with reflex in situ hybridization (ISH) is accepted as a standard method of assessment, yet there are currently the following 2 sets of criteria used to interpret results: the HER2 Amplification for Colorectal Cancer Enhanced Stratification (HERACLES) criteria and the MyPathway criteria. The HER2 Amplification for Colorectal Cancer Enhanced Stratification criteria require ISH confirmation when IHC staining is 3+ in 10% to 49% of cells, whereas the MyPathway criteria mirror those for gastric HER2 assessment and do not recommend ISH confirmation in the previously referenced scenario.

Introduction: Neonatal infections can rapidly become severe, with delays in treatment often proving fatal. (Group B , GBS) is a common cause, typically transmitted from colonized pregnant women to neonates during childbirth. In Vietnam, routine prenatal care lacks standardized GBS screening protocols.
