Introduction: Myeloid/lymphoid neoplasms with fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 () rearrangements (MLN) are rare entities with aggressive features and poor prognosis. Presentation is heterogeneous, ranging from myeloproliferative neoplasms (with or without eosinophilia) to T-cell lymphoma and acute leukemia. Historical treatments have been guided by the presenting phenotype with induction chemotherapy frequently used.

The present study aimed to assess the effect of sigma-1 receptor (S1R) stimulation on ventricular remodeling and susceptibility to ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) after myocardial infarction (MI) in rats. Wild-type male rats were placed into one of the following four treatment groups. For four weeks, animals in the Sham group and MI group received intraperitoneal (i.

Sepsis is characterized by an early pro-inflammatory phase followed by compensatory anti-inflammatory mechanisms that lead to a late generalized immunosuppression, period where most deaths occur. Immunotherapy approaches to recover the immunocompetence in sepsis are similar to those used in cancer. Meta-tyrosine (m-Tyr) is a product of oxidative stress present in circulation during the sepsis and cancer-associated pro-inflammatory stages.

Aims: Tyrosine kinases and topoisomerase I are common target enzymes for the majority of the anticancer agents. In contrast to quinazolines and quinolines, kinase inhibitors and topoisomerase inhibitors incorporating cinnoline scaffold are relatively infrequent. Thus the aim of this work was to replace the former scaffolds with the latter one.

meta-Tyrosine (m-Tyr) is a non-protein amino acid produced in both plants and animals. Primary mode of action of this phenylalanine analog is its incorporation into protein structure leading to formation of aberrant molecules. An increased level of m-Tyr in animal cells is detected under oxidative stress and during age-related processes characterized by overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
