Five new metabolites, including three cyclic dipeptide derivatives (-) and two new polyketides (-), together with nine known ones (- and -), were isolated from the mangrove-sediments-derived fungus sp. SCSIO 41431. Their structures were determined using detailed NMR, MS spectroscopic analyses, and quantum chemical calculations.

Dipeptides were constructed using hydrophobic amino acid residues following AMP prediction. After that Boc-modification was performed on the screened peptides and finally Boc-Phe-Trp-OMe and Boc-Trp-Trp-OMe were synthesized. Even though no inhibition zones were observed in agar well diffusion assays, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) analysis revealed anti-bacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, with MIC ranging from 230 to 400 μg/mL.

In this work, we fabricated the Fmoc-Pro-Phe-OMe modified carbon paste electrode (FPPO/MCPE) and used it for electrochemical detection of CP and FZ in a 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7). We characterized the Fmoc-Pro-Phe-OMe and applied it for the electrochemical detection of CP and FZ.

Human carnosinases (CNs) are Xaa-His metal-ion-activated aminopeptidases that break down bioactive carnosine and other histidine-containing dipeptides. Carnosine is a bioactive peptide found in meat and prevalently used as a supplement and in functional food formulation. Nonetheless, carnosine is digested by CNs rapidly after ingestion.
