Their interaction with the inflammatory system is important for the well-being of the brain, but they are also crucial in the development of many diseases in the brain such as stroke and traumatic brain injury. The cellular effects of coagulation are mediated mainly by protease-activated receptors.

Background: Spontaneous splenic rupture is a rare life-threatening finding with a challenging diagnosis which is largely ignored in the literature. Hematological disorders such as afibrinogenemia are reported to cause bleeding disorders mostly cerebral hemorrhage. Despite being a life-threatening condition, data about spontaneous splenic rupture in patients with Afibrinogenemia remain scarce.

Bernard-Soulier syndrome (BSS) is a rare qualitative condition of platelets wherein deficiency of platelet surface glycoproteins (GP) Ib, IX, and V forms the Ib-IX-V complex, leading to impaired hemostasis. Although it commonly presents as prolonged bleeding in general, women in the reproductive phase report additional complications during menstruation, pregnancy, and childbirth. In women of reproductive age, menorrhagia is a frequent complaint.

Gut inflammation is a salient prodromal feature of Parkinson's disease (PD) implicated in pathologic processes leading to nigrostriatal dopaminergic degeneration. However, existing rodent models of PD are suboptimal for investigating the interaction between gut inflammation and neuropathology. This study aimed to develop a rat model of PD in which gut inflammation exacerbated PD symptoms induced by a parkinsonian lesion.
