Introduction: Adipokines are associated with several pathological states including, metabolic syndrome, obesity, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. One of these adipokines, adiponectin is of particular interest as it has been shown to have numerous anti-inflammatory effects, However, the association between adiponectin and blood pressure remains inconclusive especially in the Latino adolescent with obesity.
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between plasma adiponectin and blood pressure in Latino adolescents' boys with obesity and a with a family history of Type 2 diabetes.
In missed abortion the decrease of IGF-1 down-regulates PI3K/AKT signaling pathway reducing the secretion of progesterone and β-hCG.

Objective: To explore whether the reduction of IGF-1 in missed abortion down-regulates PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, thereby causing trophoblast cell apoptosis and reducing the secretion of β-hCG and progesterone.
Design: 12 pairs of serum and villous tissues were selected from missed abortion patients and normal early pregnant women who had terminated pregnancy by artificial abortion. The subjects in two groups had same age and gestational week.

To establish a detection method based on Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) that can sensitively detect the second messenger cyclic AMP (cAMP) in the cytoplasm. The eukaryotic expression vectors of CFTR and YFP-H148Q / I152L were constructed respectively. FRT cells co-expressing CFTR and YFP-H148Q / I152L were obtained by liposome transfection.

Pyrexia of unknown origin (PUO) is a challenging entity in medical practice from a diagnostic point of view. Sub-Acute Thyroiditis (SAT), that is an inflammatory condition of thyroid, self-limiting and easily treatable, is a very rare cause for PUO with a few published cases and unfortunately not considered in routine for the differential diagnosis (DD) of PUO. Usually, it presents with mild thyrotoxicosis signs and symptoms, painful goiter, and rarely with cervical Lymph adenopathy.

Insulin is a peptide hormone that is secreted by the β cells of the pancreas and is essential to the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in the body. The marmoset insulin peptide is not homologous with human insulin and therefore commonly available assays do not work for this species. Due to the increasing popularity of marmoset research, a simple, specific assay for the quantitation of marmoset insulin is needed.
