In this work, ultra-small and stable silver nanoparticles (AgNP) on chitosan biopolymer (BP/AgP) were prepared by in situ reduction of the diamminesilver(I) complex ([Ag(NH)]) to create a biostatic membrane system. The small AgNP (3 nm) as a stable source of silver ions, their crystal form, and homogeneous distribution in the whole solid membrane were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger analysis were applied to investigate the elemental composition, concentration, and chemical state of surface atoms.

Active dressings based on natural polymers are becoming increasingly popular on the market. One of such polymers is alginate, which is characterized by biodegradability, resorbability, has no carcinogenic properties, does not have allergenic or hemostatic properties, and has a confirmed lack of toxicity. However, this polymer does not show biocidal and biostatic properties, therefore the purpose of this research was to select the appropriate conditions for the production of calcium alginate fibers modified with nano titanium dioxide and nano zinc oxide.

The paper presents a method of obtaining composite polyacrylonitrile-based (PAN) membranes with the addition of reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The membranes were obtained using phase inversion method from a homogeneous rGO dispersion in a solution of PAN dissolved in N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The impact of the amount of rGO addition to the PAN matrix on the physicochemical, structural, transport, and separation properties and on fouling resistance was studied.

Ordered intercalation compounds between a smectite mineral clay (montmorillonite, Mt) and the ammonium salt mainly used for stone material disinfection procedures (i.e. N-Alkyl-N-benzyl-N,N-dimethylammonium chloride, shortly known as benzalkonium chloride, BAC), leading to an increase of interlayer distance from 1.

Introduction: The placenta is an accessible source of tissues for transplantation. Placental transplants have been used in wound treatment because of the basic function of the placenta and its nutritious properties and structure.
Patients And Methods: The aim of this work is to present the clinical usage of fetal membranes, including human amnion, on the basis of the burn treatment center's experience.
