GRPR Drives Metastasis via CRABP2 and FNDC4 Pathways in Lung Adenocarcinoma.

Cells

December 2024

Targeted Therapy Branch, Division of Rare and Refractory Cancer, Research Institute, National Cancer Center, Goyang 10408, Republic of Korea.

Metastasis is a leading cause of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD)-related mortality and presents significant challenges for treatment. The gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family, has an unclear role in LUAD progression. This study aimed to investigate the function and underlying mechanisms of GRPR in LUAD metastasis.

Objective: Gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) is the 17th most common cancer in the UK with a 5-year survival rate of 22%. GastroPanel (Biohit Oyj; Helsinki, Finland) is an ELISA kit that measures pepsinogen I (PGI); pepsinogen II (PGII); gastrin-17 (G-17); and Helicobacter pylori IgG antibodies (Hp IgG). PGI and the PGI/PGII ratio correlate inversely with the severity of chronic atrophic gastritis (AG).

Eradication of Helicobacter pylori by a potassium-competitive acid blocker alone?

Scand J Gastroenterol

December 2024

Department of clinical and molecular medicine, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway.

Aims: , the dominating cause of gastric cancer, most often infects children initiating inflammation in the antral part and spreads orally to the oxyntic mucosa. Traditionally, eradication of has been based upon a combination of antibiotics together with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) to reduce gastric destruction of the antibiotics. Recently it has been shown that the more efficient inhibitors of acid secretion, the potassium-competitive acid blockers (PCABs) in combination with amoxicillin alone gave highly sufficient eradication.
