Purpose: The chordae Willisii (CWs), trabecular projections into the lumen of the dural sinuses, are not well understood. We aimed to explore them using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: Eighty-five patients underwent volumetric contrast-enhanced MRI, while another 30 underwent a fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequence in the coronal section.

Intermittent and temporally variable bioturbation by some terrestrial invertebrates: implications for ichnology.

Naturwissenschaften

March 2023

Faculty of Geography and Geology, Institute of Geological Sciences, Jagiellonian University, Gronostajowa 3a, 30-387, Kraków, Poland.

Bedding planes and vertical sections of many sedimentary rock formations reveal bioturbation structures, including burrows, produced by diverse animal taxa at different rates and durations. These variables are not directly measurable in the fossil record, but neoichnological observations and experiments provide informative analogues. Comparable to marine invertebrates from many phyla, a captive beetle larva burrowing over 2 weeks showed high rates of sediment disturbance within the first 100 h but slower rates afterwards.

Current advances in management of the cardiac neuroaxis in different cardiovascular diseases require a deeper knowledge of cardiac neuroanatomy. The aim of the study was to increase knowledge of the human fetal extrinsic cardiac nervous system. We achieved this by systematizing the origin and formation of the cardiac nerves, branches, and ganglia and their sympathetic/parasympathetic connections.

Importance: Thyroid eye disease (TED) results in varying degrees of proptosis and diplopia negatively affecting quality of life (QoL), producing possibly substantial visual changes, disfigurement, and disability.

Objective: To determine the association of varying TED severities with QoL in a non-TED population by assessing health state utility scores.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This qualitative study, conducted from April 20, 2020, to April 29, 2021, assessed health states for active, moderate-severe TED, and values were elicited using time trade-off methods.

Objective: To investigate whether sublingual varices are constant or inconstant over time and whether this is connected to background variables, cardiovascular risk factors or disease.

Design: This longitudinal observational study was performed between 2010 and 2020 at the Public Dental Services Västra Vall, Varberg, Sweden. The study was based on 431 patients included in a previous study in which the relationship between sublingual varices and hypertension was examined.
